10 Best Web Hosting for Everybody’s Need in 2020

You have come up with a great idea and now you need your idea or business to go online.

So the first thing that you are looking for is a safe reliable company with good speed and cheap web hosting plans.

This is where we come into the picture but I’m afraid that if you are looking for an all in one answer for your hosting needs then you might be disappointed.

As the best web hosting company for you, greatly relies on your needs like what are you going to host there, how much traffic you get daily and some other factors that will be discussed later.

Best web hosting

1. SiteGround

Siteground is one of the most popular Webhosting companies. You might have stumbled upon them on your quest to find a suitable host for your website.

So, first of all, Let’s start with the pros of the Siteground. The first pro is it’s one of the three companies that WordPress themselves recommends to host WordPress sites. So that’s a pretty big deal that WordPress actually recommends this company but it doesn’t stop there.

Their customer support is quite responsive and they take backups at a frequency of 7 days and 30 days. it comes with a free SSL certificate so that’s quite a lot of pros for Siteground but there are also some cons.

One of the first cons is that it’s not the cheapest option out there it’s about a mid-price range and it’s also not the most expensive. Overall I do think that the Siteground is one of the few hosting providers who provide you with the best value for your money.

But there are cheaper options out there if money is one of the concerns for you. Another con is that their hosting plans come with a limit to how much data you can upload to the server.

So if you have a website that requires you to store a lot of high-resolution videos and photos. Then Site ground might not be a better option for you.

2. BlueHost

Another great hosting is Bluehost and they’re also recommended by WordPress themselves to be used as a hosting service for WordPress.

But here’s a dirty little secret about Bluehost part that’s up to their sleeves for so long and one of the reasons they’re one of the most popular hosting companies.

This is because they pay a very high affiliate Commission to their affiliate partners like some of the YouTubers and bloggers. These partners then give biased reviews as a lot of people out there say that Bluehost is the best because they make the most money off of it.

They are also very aggressive with their upsell model. Some of the checkboxes like code guard and a bunch of other useless or should I say less useful stuff that you can get for free.

Now that being said I do think Bluehost is great and I have used them on one of my sites. But in my experience, they are overpriced, and to worsen things more they want a year-long commitment from you before you can try their monthly package which is a bit of absurd.

3. GoDaddy

Next up is GoDaddy, but my straight forward recommendation would be that do not use GoDaddy. Do not go with them. They spend a lot of money on marketing and they don’t spend as much money on actually creating a great product.

To worsen things up they even are more expensive than some of the cheaper alternatives with much better features already available in the market.

The main reason that they are popular is that they spend tons of money on advertisements. This way they can attract small site owners but if you’re up for a good site with decent traffic then don’t opt for GoDaddy.

GoDaddy is fine for buying a domain name but they try to upgrade you to the other services of hosting. They also upsell aggressively for things like domain-specific email, site guards, backups and all that useless stuff.

I don’t think they are worth your money. Either you talk about the money that you’ll spend on this less than mediocre hosting or the performance they deliver. That being said, you might be wondering why is it in the list of best hosting companies.

For that, I would say that this is one of the companies which is like crazy popular, I mean who doesn’t know Godaddy… I wanted to add GoDaddy in the list to make people aware that “All that Glitters is not gold”.

4. GreenGeeks

Green Geeks is another hosting provider with good support, fast and reliable service. They’re not that popular as of now but they provide a quite good customer support and safe hosting space.

One of the pros that I can’t stop but talk about is that they claim that if you host your website on their hosting then you might be making a positive impact on the environment. As the name suggests they use green energy like the wind for operating their infrastructure.

Talking about the Cons, they have a little bit of misleading or confusing pricing model. Another con is that set up and domain fee is not refundable.

To my opinion, they are average in their price range but you need to be aware of the upsell as most of them are useless or the one that you can get for free.

5. A2Hosting

A2hosting has one of the fastest server times out there and it is available in a decent price range.

But one con is that It failed to prove itself as one of the most reliable because a little while ago their servers got hacked and many of their sites went down, which cost the site owners a lot.

Yet, their uptime was still at 99 plus percent but this security flaw has kept me from recommending them. But you can surely give them a shot as It was just a one-time thing as of now.

6. HostGator

HostGator is a very popular hosting company and here’s a fun little fact that it’s owned by the same parent company that owns Bluehost. So both Bluehost and Hostgator are very very similar.

But one con of HostGator is that It is not on the list of those 3 companies which WordPress recommends.

It has all the features a good host should have and on top of that, It is comparingly very similar to those 3 companies that WordPress recommends.

It also does have an advantage over Bluehost is that It gives a little bit of flexibility with their pricing as compared to Bluehost. But still, they are not one of the cheap web hosting company and neither are they recommended by WordPress.

So, If I would have to choose between Hostgator and Bluehost. I’ll go with Bluehost as they are just a better name in their industry and I don’t like taking a risk with my site performance for the same price range.

7. WP engine

WP engine is unlike any of the other companies we’ve talked about so far. In the hosting space, they’re one of the fastest. They’re one of the most reliable with the best customer support out there but a big con is you’re gonna pay for it.

It’s ten folds the price of any other company we’ve talked about. So If you’re looking for a cheap web hosting company for your website then this might be the opposite of what you are looking for.

So if your WordPress site is very very important to you and you want to pay a premium for best WordPress hosting and the ultimate customer support. it may make sense to go WP engine.

I would not recommend doing this because like all the other ones that we’ve talked about so far have really good customer support. But the WP engine does care about the customer support and they take it to the next level.

8. Inmotion

Inmotion is another popular hosting company and to be honest with you I don’t see any big pros with using them.

Their uptime and their speed were mediocre and their prices are also double of other companies we’ve talked about. I won’t recommend you to opt for them but Inmotion is not a bad hosting company by any means.

They’re also very much reliable if we talk about performance and security.

So yeah you can go for this one if you can afford to pay some extra for almost the same thing that you can get far cheaper.

9. Hostinger – Cheap Best Web Hosting provider

The biggest Pro of Hostinger is that it’s one of the cheapest ones out there.

If money is your number one concern and you are looking for a cheap web hosting for your site. Then Hostinger is a good option for you.

The one con with them is that you do get what you pay for because they’re mediocre in every aspect other than pricing

Their support system is not good enough. They have mediocre TTFB ( Time to First Byte) or server response time. But It’ll take care of all your needs if your site is not getting a lot of traffic.

So if money is an issue like you are just starting up in the online world and want a cheap and best web hosting provider to kick things up. Then Hostinger does match your requirements.

But I don’t recommend It for any site receiving a decent amount of traffic as they mess up sometimes when traffic is considerable.

If you are new to this and just want to test some stuff or If your website does not need so much server intensive resources. For example, you can have a landing page with not a lot of traffic.

Then you can also look for 000webhost a subsidiary of Hostinger to provide free web hosting space. 000Webhost is one of the free best web hosting companies but you need to keep your expectations in check.

10. DreamHost

Last up on our list of top 10 best web hosting companies is Dreamhost and a big Pro for them again is they are recommended by WordPress themselves.

So far we have covered 2 out of 3 companies that WordPress recommends to host their site and DreamHost is the third one on the list.

Well, to clear things up third doesn’t mean that It’s the worst of three, It’s one of the top three and not in any particular order. So that’s a big pro for DreamHost.

According to WordPress, you can host your WordPress site on any of the three and they’ll do fine. But, on the con side, they’re more expensive than the other two companies i.e Bluehost and SiteGround.

Also, Dreamhost doesn’t have any more added features or something special that makes it better than the other two.

But don’t confuse my words with like DreamHost is not a good company because that’s not what I am saying. It’s that, It is very identical to the other two WordPress recommended companies like Bluehost and Siteground.

Best Web Hosting Wrapped up

You’ve come this far, and you already know which provider is the best web hosting provider for you.

But still to summarize, If you are looking for a company with the fastest server response time then go for A2hosting.

If you are on a hunt of a cheap best web hosting company for your beginner level project or site then Hostinger is quite a good fit for you. If you want to be in old and safe hands then Bluehost is going to take the crown.

But the truth is if I were to do it all over again. I would not use any of these I would go with the Siteground. This is because I am also using the Siteground on one of my sites and so far my experience is all good.

So, which one of the above you are going to use?

P.S. All these companies listed above have a higher renewal fee as compared to the price you bought them. So do make an informed decision on that side as well.
